Description of Project 3

This project is to map the space and time by using photos. Choosing different perspective, time and places to find the relationship between those photos, and give the meaning to what you plan to map. People are required to choose place, human, animals, and objects. After that, choose different time to be there and move the camera slowly to get many parts of the object you choose. For final, those photos that should be 4*6 inches are required to stick in a white/black board and it looks like collage.
For my final photos, I want to show something happens normally and constantly but also has change. So, the bus idea comes into my mind quickly. I take the bus every day at more than one time, and the bus always follows one route. Those can be seen as constant things. However, the sights out of the bus window change every time even per second. And people might easily ignore this change because they don’t care about that. I do the window from front to back, and also from left to right. For the two sides, I do one common and one upside down because I think this perspective can be interesting.

Summary of Project 2

In this project, I learned many things. For instance, I learned how to use band-saw and other tools to do a vessel by using wood which means that I can do many kinds of this things by myself in future, and create other de- signs. In addition, the most important things I learned must be insisting. In the other hand, don’t stop thinking and designing until the real box finished because in this project progress, I change my mind many times.
At first, I do a model of a glasses container with a flip-open cover by cardboard. However, teacher suggest me to do le slide lid because my cover design may not be realized by using wood. And then, I try to do this with base wood for practice. After I done this, I feel that flip-open lid will more convince for people to use this vessel, and this idea can’t get out of my mind, so I was thinking over all the times to make this come true. As the result, an idea appeared in my mind, but I don’t know if it works. Time is limited, but I don’t want to give up , and I tried. Fortunately, it works well. I realized my design and did it.
I feel satisfied because no one did a flip-open lid except me. I think this lid is a strength and difference of my design. Otherwise, I add a pole inside of the box like a nose to fit the groove of the grasses so that it will be stable when set glasses in the vessel. One things that makes me regret is that the lid is hard to open when it set on the table, and it is better to hold it and open completely. This must be the weakness that I should improve.
All in all, I like this project, it’s very interesting.
